Here is a really unique pair of spurs we sold in 2008 made by Robert Evans.  This is an earlier pair of his spurs we purchased from a local collector. This is the only pair of these spurs that he ever made this way as it was a custom order at the request of this collector. These spurs are double mounted in more ways than one. The heel bands are made out of 4130 steel and they are mounted with 22 pieces of nickel silver and 4 pieces of copper.  They also came with a set of custom buckles to match.

 

This is a set of new full double mounted spurs made by Randy Butters from Homer, Michigan. Randy is listed in Bits & Spurs Motifs, Techniques and Modern Makers by Ned and Jody Martin.  Click on the picture to see detail close up of these spurs.  According to the book, “Most spurs he makes according to the buyer’s specifications, but  two patterns, the swan and certain gal leg patterns, are his alone.”  Randy’s work is exhibited in the Cowboy Hall of Fame.

 

This is a set of new full double mounted spurs we sold made by RF Ford  from Watervalley, Texas. RF is listed in Bits & Spurs Motifs, Techniques and Modern Makers by Ned and Jody Martin.  Click on the picture to see detail close up of these spurs.  In 1996 RF Ford was awarded Spur Maker of the Year by the Academy of Western Artists, the very first spur maker to receive this honor.

Joe is listed in Bits & Spurs Motifs, Techniques and Modern Makers by Ned and Jody Martin.  These spurs are currently on auction. Click on the picture to see detail close up of these spurs.   In 2000 Joe was named one of the top ten Spur Makers by the Academy of Western Artists. Joe has been featured in numerous publications and articles.

This is a set of new full double mounted spurs made by Bill Homer from Groom, Texas. Bill is listed in Bits & Spurs Motifs, Techniques and Modern Makers by Ned and Jody Martin.  Click on the picture to see detail close up of these spurs.  Bill only made two pairs of spurs with these shanks and said he would never make another pair.  They were completely hand cut with a jeweler’s saw.  Bill is no longer taking custom orders.
